Abstract

People's business credit (KUR)  is a program or policy created by the government with the aim of assisting UMKM executant in running their business, in this case capital. There are several problems faced by UMKM executant, namely UMKM having the main obstacle in capital, in this case UMKM executant really need credit capital from banks with the amount of credit and credit / interest charges that can meet the needs to develop a business, secondly there are still some UMKM executant. who use KUR funds outside of business needs. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the effectiveness of people's business credit on the progress of micro, small and medium enterprises in Oba Utara District, Tidore Islands City. This research uses quantitative methods, with descriptive analytical research design. Sample in this study amounted to 98 respondents, who are customers of People's business credit Bank BRI Sofifi Unit. How to collect data by means of questionnaire and interviews. The results of this study are that there is an influence between the effectiveness of People's Business Credit (KUR) to the progress of UMKM in Oba Utara District, the Working Area of ​​BRI Bank, Sofifi Unit, with a P value  = 0.00. The government is expected to develop a system for the strategy of developing UMKM by providing facilities for UMKM in terms of managing KUR for the advancement of UMKM to increase economic turnover in the North Maluku Province in general and in particular Tidore City.
